President Trump directed the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to suspend evictions and foreclosures through April as Americans grapple with the fallout of the coronavirus.

 

Paid Sick Leave, Prescriptions & Insurance

Emergency Paid Sick Leave - Any employee who works for an employer is eligible.

     Full-time Employees – 80 hours of paid sick leave

     Part-time Employees – Paid based on the average number of hours the employee worked for the six months prior to taking this paid sick leave

Prescriptions (Rx) can be renewed for 90 days and obtain early refills.

 

Delayed Tax Filing & Student Loans

The deadline to file both federal & state taxes has now been extended to July 15th. This will provide immediate relief to those with pending tax liabilities or access to complete returns. Student loans payments have been suspended for 60 days.

Federal Stimulus

The President and Congress are rolling out significant stimulus programs ongoing. More information on real-time updates can be found at: https://www.whitehouse.gov/.  The CARES Act gives a one-time direct payment to Americans - $1,200 per adult making up to $75,000 a year and $2,400 to a married couple making up to $150,000, with $500 payments per child.

 

CARES Act – Paycheck Protect Program

The Paycheck Protection Program administered through the SBA – that provides up to $349 billion in loans to eligible entities, with such loans being subject to forgiveness under certain circumstances. The 100 percent federally guaranteed loans are available under a new subsection 36 of Section 7(a) of the Small Business Act. The loans may be used for a variety of purposes, including payroll costs (as described below), rent, utilities, mortgage interest (not principal) and interest on debt existing prior to February 15, 2020. https://www.sba.gov/
