COVID-19 Information

We want to give a big THANK YOU to our GOLD partners. Without their support, we wouldn't be able to bring you this important information!

******UPDATE: July 1, 2021 - Gov. Brian Kemp has lifted masking and social distancing guidelines; however, the CDC recommends healthcare providers continue to follow its infection control guidelines.
Those exposed to a person with COVID-19 (spent 15+ minutes within six feet of a person with COVID-19 without PPE) do NOT have to quarantine in the following circumstances:
  • If you have been fully vaccinated (two weeks after receiving either the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine)
  • If you have recovered from lab-confirmed COVID-19 and already met criteria to end isolation and are within 90 days of first symptoms appearing or the first COVID-19 positive test.
GCA reminds doctors that the law protecting businesses from COVID-19-related lawsuits is contingent upon businesses following established guidelines. Please click here to see udpated CDC infection control guidelines.

Georgia Chiropractic Association supports freedom of choice in health care decisions based upon an informed awareness of the benefits and possible adverse effects of health care interventions which include vaccinations. For those individuals who are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, health care workers, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health, are currently eligible to make an appointment with their local hospital, pharmacy or health department (click here to download health department contact info) to do so.

Reminder: Protect Your Practice from COVID-19 Lawsuits
Thanks to GCA lobbyist Aubrey Villines, doctors of chiropractic were included in S.B. 359, that protects healthcare providers and businesses from COVID-19 lawsuits except in cases of gross negligence, willful and wanton misconduct, reckless infliction of harm or intentional infliction of harm.

To ensure you are protected, you must make patients aware of the law by posting at a point of entry to the premises, a sign in at least one-inch Arial font placed apart from any other text, a written warning stating the following:

"Warning: Under Georgia law, there is no liability for an injury or death of an individual entering these premises if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of contracting COVID-19. You are assuming this risk by entering these premises."
Additionally, you should follow the guidance presented by CDC for outpatient clinics. Failure to do so could provide rebuttal evidence to a potential claimant.
