Board Elections and Candidate Eligibility

Statement Regarding Recent GCA Board Elections and Candidate Eligibility.
Georgia Chiropractic Association (GCA)

For Immediate Release

The Georgia Chiropractic Association extends its appreciation to all
members who participated in our recent director election and for the
continued engagement that strengthens our organization. We are
grateful for the dedication and service of our past and present
leaders, including Dr. Robert Alpert, who has served the Association
with distinction as a member, director, and committee contributor.

During the 2025–2027 director nomination and selection process, the
Nominating Committee exercised its discretion based on multiple
considerations, including organizational governance priorities, board
composition needs, and discussions within leadership regarding
potential revisions to eligibility standards for future Board service.
These discussions involve, among other topics, the question of whether
individuals holding certain regulatory or elected positions should
simultaneously serve on the GCA Board.

Although no bylaw amendment regarding eligibility has yet been
formally adopted, these topics are currently under review by
leadership and will be brought forward for broader membership
consideration through the established governance process. The
Nominating Committee’s recent decision reflects this ongoing policy
evaluation and was not a judgment about the qualifications,
professionalism, or standing of any individual member.

Dr. Alpert remains a valued member of the Georgia Chiropractic
Association in good standing, and we appreciate his longstanding
commitment to the chiropractic profession in Georgia. The Association
looks forward to continued collaboration with all members as we work
to strengthen transparency, unity, and leadership development for the
future.

In The Coming Months, The GCA Will:

Review and clarify bylaws and policies related to Board eligibility
and governance,
Provide opportunities for member feedback and participation, and
Strengthen communication regarding nomination, selection, and
leadership pathways, ensuring a fair, clear, and consistent process
moving forward.

Our mission remains rooted in advancing the chiropractic profession,
protecting patient access to high-quality care, and fostering a
collaborative community for chiropractors across our state.

We appreciate the engagement of our members and thank you for your
continued support as we move forward together.
